Callie’s tax work experience has been with CPA firms; 14 years with Deloitte & Touche, one of the Big 4 firms, and seven years with Brautigam & Co. in Sacramento.

Her licensing is as an Enrolled Agent.  An Enrolled Agent is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation, and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service.  Unlike lawyers or CPAs, enrolled agents specialize in taxation.  They advise, represent and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates and trusts, as well as non-profit entities.  Her expertise in the constantly changing field of tax law enables her to be an effective representative for taxpayers.

Also, this federal designation gives her access and insight with federal and state agencies, no matter where in the United States the taxpayer lives.  It also requires her to have 72 hours of continuing education, reported every three years.

According to the National Association of Enrolled Agents, because of the difficulty in becoming enrolled and maintaining that enrollment, there are less than 34,000 Enrolled Agents in the United States.  In contrast, there are about 375,000 CPAs nationwide.

Callie has a unique situation, running her own tax practice, but has a close affiliation with Allen & Allen, LLP (www.allentaxstrategies.com). This expands her resources, with both firms assisting each other.
